What’s Your Beef?

Due to being right in the middle of many student houses and just behind Plymouth College of Art, Ebrington Street has fast become a hub for students and for an amazing selection of unique local businesses and restaurants, such as our friends Minerva, Prime Cafe, Bread & Roses, and more. Now you can make sure to add another to the list with What’s Your Beef?, the new gourmet burger restaurant. With a great selection of locally-sourced food, great prices, and a menu designed with the help of local Michelin star chef, WYB Burgers is the perfect place to fill up at lunch.

Plymouth has been lacking in it’s own unique burger bar, and with Exeter having Urban Burger and Bristol having The Burger Joint, I’d say it’s about time that our city got its own place to feast on some proper burgers, and I can say that WYB is now definitely my go-to restaurant for it.

What’s Your Beef has a good choice of original and delicious burgers, such as the ideal hangover meal, the Mornin’ Glory, which comes topped with a fried egg and bacon for your Sunday morning blues, the WYB Chee’n B, which is a stacked double cheese burger with bacon and their hippie sauce, and they also serve a slider tray, amazing chips, chicken wings and lots more. Don’t worry veggies, they also have vegetarian, vegan and pescetarian friendly burgers.

Not only do they have a great selection of food, the restaurant itself is a great place to sit and eat, the staff are very friendly and there’s free wifi which is always a bonus. Since this is the Plymouth Student, you’ll be happy to know they offer a military and student discount if you bring your student card along with you.

Avoiding the typical American diner look, WYB has a great interior with its brick-wall industrial look. With raw wood tables, ammunition crates holding the sauces and cutlery, and art covering the walls, WYB certainly has its own feel and atmosphere.

So if you’re looking for somewhere to go at lunch or dinner that isn’t the usual fast food, this is the place. They also offer a takeaway option, so whether you’re looking for somewhere to sit down and eat, or pop in quickly and pick up some top quality food, make sure to try them out!
